aegorn on Friday 03 September 2010 - 01:55:56
another ff14 update
aegorn on Friday 03 September 2010 - 01:35:10
yeah they did screw all closed/alpha over.
Harlie on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 19:42:07
i have no problem with the open beta.. the way they did it was retarded.. download first.. then you might get in.. but i have never been shat on like this when i was a closed/alpha tester. every game ive tested and the list is greater then 10 games. they dont make you reapply for an open beta
aegorn on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 12:46:08
i expect better from a company that has released and still running mmo
Saphria on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 11:03:55
yeah i checked this morning and I was at 99.5% 2 of 4 after like 36 hours of downloading with port forwarding, could just be my shitty router lololol
Mrfoxx on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 10:44:49
I just got into the habit of torrents every patch, it goes a lot faster, i dont think the patch works at all to be honest interms of downloading.
Saphria on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 10:43:45
also 3.5 hour long IHOP meetings with no lunch is not a good idea lololol
Saphria on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 10:41:36
this is nothing compared to WoW's open beta. stress test, that was a NIGHTMARE
Saphria on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 10:40:59
yeah cy its just my frustrations due to slow downloads etc, it is an open beta not a launch :-P
Indecent on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 10:16:40
I think the only game Ive played that had a flawless release was Lotro and we all know why their release was flawless
Indecent on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 09:18:04
I remember in L2 having to hammer the character login screen for hours just to get in and that was on release
Mrfoxx on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 09:13:00
It isnt their first game that is true, but no company can just assume to know how the server will react to being hammered. Its ridiculous to think they should, WoW crashed at launch, Aion crashed at launch, EQ2 crashed at launch, None of these games had an Open beta, except aion but aion was even more popular then expected at launch.
Open beta is a stress test, its whole purpose is to do exactly what its doing now.
canceling preorders is a massive over reaction.
Indecent on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 09:06:40
We expect way too much out of online games nowadays. Think back to other releases and the headaches...
Indecent on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 09:06:01
I think its silly to react like that to a an open beta, they are obviously stress testing for release. Tell me a game where this hasnt happened?
Cyrenity on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 08:41:39
Well I have not invested any time in a Dl or struggle with the key situation nor have I preordered anything. Saph saying he is close to canceling his is enough reason for me to walk away. This is not their first game and server stability should be paramoutn to anything else. If you cant log in, you can not test right?
Mrfoxx on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 08:37:17
It is open beta, which basically translates into a stress test, its not surprising that the login serers crashed day one, along with the website.
Just doesnt make sense to threaten to cancel your preorder because of it.
better to crash now, then sept 22.
Cyrenity on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 08:36:42
So I should just skip all the headaches and just stick to LOL?
Saphria on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 08:17:19
yeah im about to cancel my pre-order, im getting fed up
aegorn on Thursday 02 September 2010 - 07:54:18
well game down so is updater so your not missing a thing. back to lol for another day
