Step 1: The Application
So you've applied, now what?
Well, granted we hear from you AND see you in the game, you'll be granted an interview. This interview will be held in ventrilo, and will be used as a means for our officers to get to know you. If we decide that you're not a total psycho and may potentially fit the Conviction standards, we'll push you on to step 2.
Step 2: Recruit Status!
You're a recruit now. In game, on the forums, and in ventrilo. Time to show us what you've really got! Make it a point to group with our members, make it a point to initiate conversations in ventrilo, make it a point to attend our guild outtings, and above all, make it a point to not mess up. Bad impressions outweigh good impressions ten fold, especially in the short amount of time you'll be spending as a recruit. The recruit tag will be given to anyone that makes it through the interview process, but how long you stay a recruit will be up to you.
MINIMUM RECRUIT TIME: 2 Weeks
MAXIMUM RECRUIT TIME: 4 Weeks
If you hit the 2 week timer, and you're accepted, great. You've probably shown to us that you've got what it takes to wear the Conviction name. Don't stress out if you're not automatically made a member come the 2 week marker though, sometimes it takes us a bit of time to really get a feel for your play-style. However, if you're approaching the 4 week marker and you're still not accepted: you may want to reflect on what you have / have not been doing. So once you get accepted, what happens? You move on to Step 3!
Step 3: Membership!
Great, you're a member now! You will forever wear the Conviction tag under your name, and be allowed to join us during any event! . . . . Wrong. Even if you are a member of Conviction for a year, you are still constantly being tested. We have very high standards for our members, and we expect you to uphold them throughout your career with us. If you suddenly start slacking on your play-time without any notice, suddenly start sucking after you proved during your recruit status that you were a B-A, you may find yourself re-entering the recruitment process. This process however is called the "Re-evaluation" process. During this time, you will be informed of our concern with your current activities. A thread will be started about you in our officer forums, and we will be keeping a very close eye on you for a solid month. I do hope that no members have to go through this, because in a way that somewhat shows a failure in our recruitment process.
Rest assure, we want the highest quality of members. We want good players, and good people. Hopefully one day you'll find an elder tag sitting next to your name, and realize that years ago you didn't find a guild that suited you, but you found a great group of gaming friends.
Step 4: Elder!
The Elders within Conviction represent the cornerstone of our community. Through a combination of loyalty and longtime dedication their presence and activity generates the drive for success that has been the hallmark of our tight-knit group of gamers. An Elder is allowed to fully participate in any game in which we have created an active Conviction chapter. We feel that these individuals have satisfactorily shown to be an asset within our community given both their attitude and level of skill. Aside from this one unique privilege, an Elder does not enjoy any special benefits that are unavailable to those possessing a regular membership.
The process of becoming an Elder is two-fold. It requires both a minimum of six months continuous activity within our gaming community and one must be nominated by the chapter leader of your primary game. Once the nomination has occurred you will be contacted by the leadership to further discuss the finer details of process.
Best of luck.
