It's been longer than I'd planned since the last update. Luckily that means lots has gone on, even though I don't remember most of it. The fantastic thing is PEOPLE HAVE SUBMITTED CONTENT! I am going to dedicate the opening news pictures to the pioneers of content submission; the shining man gods who paved the way for guild participation.

In actual guild news, we're all still sick of Bastion. Tonight's run was interesting however, with an epic boss 3 solo by Iwen. I heard the battle was intense, here's the view from my screen:

Ever wonder what those piles of skulls in the bastion lobby do? I did. It bothered me a lot, and I wanted to find out for myself. I present to you a mini-story, SKULLS FOR THE SKULL PILE:

When you pick up the little skulls in each wing of bastion they sit in your quest inventory indefinitely. Click on a skull pile while you have at least one of the correct type of skull for that pile and it will eat it and /emote a hint at how close the pile is to being satisfied. Well, after spending way too much time gathering skulls in tier 2 I threw them on the pile and made a new friend;

After losing our only instance tier 2 capable tank not long ago, we came back with a vengeance with two freshly warded out tanks. It was a loot fest, 7-8 usable sentinel pieces split amongst us, including sent BPs for Bonbon and Xelosnuffles.

I said I'd do a news update today so here it is. Unfortunately I don't really have much to work with since I managed to miss most key guild gatherings and everyone else has broken print screen buttons.

In progression news, we're still stuck open-invite guild zerging Bastion Stair in typical Conviction style. Our tanks are being huge jerks and not getting armor drops, leaving Sigmar Crypts and the rat tunnels out of the question for now since we parted ways with our only warded out tank (Good luck to Albieos, Krix, Dakim, Dumog, Teekna, and Gror wherever you end up!)

It was Halloween weekend for most of us. I'm sure the guild has lots of extremely interesting tales of drunken costumed debauchery, but none of them shared with me to post, so you get to read about how I spent Halloween playing warhammer;


Iorail, Pashion, and I spent the first days of witching night farming the mobs for the event quest. They both went on to max their influence and get awesome masks (not pictured, SEND ME A SCREENSHOT OR I'LL FIND YOU AND MAKE YOU PUT IT ON) but even though I want the mask so bad I couldn't bring myself to farm it. Instead I used extra time to scour the world for Ascendant Verses (if you would like to join me on this noble quest I could use the extra deeps, but it is a quest of sacrifice and little hope).






Before this turns into my warhammer livejournal let me get to the interesting bits. During my search I got a very polite tell asking for help, little did I know that it was the start of one of the most shameful experiences of my MMORPG career. (excuse the horrific quality of these pictures, I was using MSPaint to cut/paste them and they ended up being saved as .jpegs multiple times).


It's always nice to talk to friendly people, even if they just want to ask you questions. It makes me feel special. Plus I was pretty bored at this point, having killed dozens of several types of mobs all over Eataine.

At this point I was a little suspicious of how ridiculously nice this person was being, and that last line really made it obvious that English was not his/her first language. That combined with the sudden interest in gold should have been enough to make things click right there, but I didn't catch on.

That was the last thing it said to me. I continued to kill boars for a few minutes before it hit me. It was a gold farmer. I was just farmed by a gold farmer. They took my leet money strats and are probably already employing them to destroy our server's talisman economy. Sorry Dioriel, Strat- you might want to reroll apothecary.

Sick of reading about warhammer through Fillur's eyes? SEND ME PICTURES OR SOMETHING GODDAMN

I know I updated this yesterday, but too many fun things happened tonight and I'm feeling motivated. It was a busy day, another 3 groups did the bastion run- this time including the 3rd boss (was fixed today, joy- but I have a feeling it will be taken down again soon)




Didn't keep track of how many drops were actually usable, but group 1 aka Team Sexy (Fillur, Falynn, Indecent, Pashion, Ailianna, Eilwen) walked away with nothing after an epic upset...here's a recap:

On the party train up to boss 3 we usually take the time to finish the PQs for imba resist rings and to give 95% of the warband an opportunity to complain about the contribution and roll system. An impressive rollhax by Eilwen robs Indecent of his blue satchel after the first PQ, tensions are high:



After much WTFing and mockery in vent, the loltrain continued uneventfully up to the boss. During an embarassing wipe fest a flawlessly executed Kaarn kill, Team Sexy noticed Eilwen had stopped moving. Standing in the AEs autoattacking, we assumed he was just sucking as per the norm, but the lack of snarky comments in vent eventually gave away that our white lion rollhacker had gone linkdead. Of course the boss dies, and we're greeted with this viciously karmic loot window:

Like I said, it was a busy day, and not all of our adventures were fruitless:


Sigmar crypts is my favorite instance yet. The mobs are unique and you spend just as much time killing bosses as you do killing trash. I wish they had taken this approach with the other 6-mans we've seen so far. All the bastion farming is worth it as soon as you take a group in here successfully. We walked away with 3 pieces of usable sentinel set pieces from a little under two hours of effort, with many more pieces rotting.

Final boss dropped 3 chest pieces and 2 belts (two ironbreaker bps, one SM), here's a screenshot to keep everyone motivated:

Didn\'t get a chance to go back to warpblade tonight, but Sigmar Crypts was much more entertaining.

A news update!? Hopefully you will see these much more often now. We've always wanted to have some sort of archive of guild events but nobody could be bothered to spend time updating the site. Now that I am stuck with the responsibility, I'm going to make a quick first post from scraps of recent screenshots and hope my guildmates start submitting content for next week.

Last week was pretty fail. Not being able to zone into any boss rooms gave us little room to advance PvE-wise, and queue times in t4 aren't consistent yet for most of the day. Random open RvR skirmishes and alts occupied most of us; Fable 2 and "real life" for others.

Luckily they gave us bastion tier 1 and 2 back; we're starting that up again daily this week. Tier 3 boss is "officially" deactivated for now, we'll have to focus on keeps to get our helm slot wards. At least they're paying attention to the end game instances, looking forward to improvements in the upcoming 1.04 patch.
Three groups, three separate killings of both boss 1 and 2, three useful drops total. Slow and steady .

After Bastion shenanigans we threw together a group of 40s to take another shot at "upper"(?) warpblade tunnels with a different group make up. Need a reminder of why we spend so much time farming the damn wards. Fun times, lots of deaths, epic strats; killed the subbosses and threw ourselves at the boss over and over; managed to get him to ~25% before we lost a healer to a 1-shot. Definitely going back tonight to try again.

Well it's four in the morning and I have class in 6 hours. Make sure to send me pix and news for next time!

We have been heavily involved in the Warhammer beta as of late and have decided to focus our attention on the upcoming release of Warhammer.

This was not the easiest of decisions and it took a series of long discussions and a couple guild meetings to finally reach our decision. Unlike our previous adventures into EQ2 and AoC, we will hit this game hard just like we did with LOTRO for the year and a half we have been involved. We feel this is the next great game that can keep us challenged and constantly entertained like LOTRO did for as long as it did.

We will still hold a presence in LOTRO but it wont be the same...for now.

Thanks to everyone that has been following our progress in LOTRO and all of the kind words that were passed along the way. Its not always easy being at the top. We hope you continue to follow us in Warhammer, we are all very exicted for something new.
